Laos, Kambodscha – August 2014
3 August 2014
Scent of jasmine! It’s wonderful on the Siem Reap riverbank – colourful lights go on, Hare Krishna brothers parade around, fulfilling their Sankirtan and playing music. But Cambodia is not only Angkor Wat and Laos is often forgotten. But many things remain unforgotten, provided you were there. Like the visit to the Big Tree Café on the banks of the Mekong River in Luang Prabang. The name of the place, Big Tree, is also the residence of a snake that falls onto my dining table and quickly escapes via my right thigh. After lots of apologies, the table was circled with candles and incense spirals, and the next BeerLao was paid by the owner.
